Elon Musk: Tesla stops taking orders for the Model 3 long-Range in America and Canada

Tesla has taken a big step and has removed the ability to order the Model 3 Long Range in the USA and Canada from its website. This AWD model is no longer available to order, shown in gray at the bottom of the list, with the caption "Available in 2023".

Tesla is making the car available at $57,990, excluding delivery and handling fees, with an estimated delivery time for new orders in the fourth quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023, depending on the level of equipment the customer desires.

This means that customers interested in the new Tesla Model 3 must currently choose between the Model 3 RWD, which is the base level, or the Long Range Performance Model 3 with all-wheel drive.

The long-range, all-wheel-drive Model 3 is expected to return in 2023, but it's not clear when exactly. Once the change in the Model 3 ordering system was discovered and questions were raised, Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to one of his followers explaining that the waiting list was too long. Not only that, but he also added that it will return when the pace of its production increases.

“The waiting list is very long,” Elon said. “We will reactivate [her order] again as production increases.”

We're not sure if this answer is entirely satisfactory, in fact, for most Tesla models in long lead times, the Model Y ordered today is expected to be delivered in mid-2023. In other words, if the waiting list is the cause, then why One class of Model 3 affected by that?

Estimated Delivery Time for Tesla Model 3 (New Orders in America):

18" Aero wheels: November 2022 to January 2023 (November 2022 to January 2023 with additional options).

19-inch Sport Wheels ($1,500): October-December 2022

Long-Range AWD: Available to order in 2023:

Model 3 Performance Series: October to November 2022.

More Tesla Model 3 news:

Anyway, it may be a one-version, one-model trial that will start at one of Tesla's factories. Some speculate that Tesla may be preparing for 2023 with a revised federal system on the electric vehicle tax credit, which would require price adjustments to offer for less than $55,000. Perhaps some modifications to the specifications.
