Dodge does not offer the Challenger a convertible from the factory, but those interested in a convertible can take advantage of a simpler option to convert it into a convertible in cooperation with another company (“Third Party”). Starting with 2022 models, official Dodge dealers will place a blanket order of the new Challenger Convertibles designed by Drop Top Customs. The company completes the process before handing over the requested car to the customer, but it is not cheap. Convertible costs $25,999, not including the price of the car.
The process is rather simple. Interested buyers visit their local Dodge dealer and place an order for a new Challenger, in either the R/T, R/T Scat Pack or SRT Hellcat trim levels. Then the agent chooses the option of expedited shipping to DropTop where the transfer is completed. The vehicle will be shipped directly from the Brampton assembly plant to the Modification Company's Florida workshop, where the process is completed, and then shipped to an authorized dealer for delivery to the customer. miles (60,000 km).
By coordinating the fit-out in this way, Dodge says it's shortened the time from manufacture to delivery. There's no mention of exactly how long the process will take, but Dodge says orders could begin August 16 for the new 2022 Challenger. Dealer-operated operation will also be available on 2023 models when orders open for them.
