Generative AI creates the content after the user inquires about it based on the data it had previously. It uses huge text data sets to predict the next sequence of words in a given context. It searches for statistical patterns and relationships between words to generate coherent and realistic text.
But there are major differences between Google Bard and ChatGPT, despite their similar functionality. So what are these differences?
Firstly; What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an interactive chatbot based on the GPT-3 language model, which it uses to craft responses to user queries into a conversational dialogue.
Popular content generated by the ChatGPT bot includes:

Google Chatbot Bard pulls its information from the web, and bases its work on the language model (LaMDA), and Bard will provide more detail to the questions asked than the usual Google search through this language model.
The Bard bot's main goal is to retrieve information in a simple answer summarized from a search engine results page, like digital assistants Alexa and Siri, but with links for users to collect more information.
The Bard will also act as a personal assistant helping with tasks such as booking vacations, finding existing reservations, and helping with meal planning.
Third; What are the differences between Google Bard and ChatGPT:
The functionality of the two bots will be similar, with users typing a query to receive a human-like response.
But the main difference between Google Bard and ChatGPT; is the source of the data, Bard will pull its information from the web so the user gets the latest information, while ChatGPT responses are based on data available through 2021. So Bard will have more data to gather information in real time by accessing the latest research.
Google Bard uses the Large Language Model (LaMDA) developed by Google, while the ChatGPT bot uses the Large Language Model (GPT-3) developed by OpenAI. The paradox here is that the two models are based on (Transformer), which is the open-source neural network architecture for understanding natural language that Google announced in 2017.
But LaMDA's model differs from other language models in that it's trained on dialogue, as it can find patterns in sentences and between words to create dialogue against individual words, while GPT-3 is trained on creating text, so ChatGPT generates content in a single text message.
ChatGPT has its own tool for detecting generated text or other language paradigms, a feature not yet available in Google Bard.
Google Bard bot is completely free so far, while ChatGPT has a free version and another paid version, OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT Plus paid version.
