The site said that the company did not provide any details regarding the date of this, nor if the merger would be for all of its products, which include browsers for desktop devices and smart devices operating on the iOS and Android systems.

The news comes after Microsoft and Google announced plans this week to integrate AI-based chat technology into their search engines, as well as Microsoft's Edge browser.

Since its launch last November, the GBT chatbot developed by artificial intelligence technology company OpenAI has become headline news.

With regard to web browsers, Google's Chrome browser has the largest share in the global market with a rate of 65.4 percent, and the Edge browser's share is estimated at 4.5 percent, according to data from Statcounter.

As for the Opera browser, which was launched in 1995; It is one of the oldest web browsers today, and it now has an estimated 2.4 percent market share.

Opera, the Norway-based company that provides users with a dedicated browser for gamers, had an average of 321 million monthly active users as of the third quarter of last year. The company said the gaming browser helped it boost its revenue in the third quarter, as it grew 28 percent year-on-year to $83 million.

It is noteworthy that the Opera company follows the Chinese company, Kunlun Tech, which said last December that its work on a system of content generated by artificial intelligence, such as: audio and images, will be made open source.

It is also noteworthy that many companies hastened to announce their work on products similar to the GBT chatbot, as the Chinese technology giant Baidu announced this week that it may end internal tests for its smart chatbot next March. before it is made available to the public. Likewise, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is working on a competitor to the GBT chatbot, but has not revealed any details regarding its launch date.
