(Pichai) explained that Bard is now available to a limited group of users to try it, to be opened to all users in the coming weeks.

He also said that (Bard) is built on the conversational application model, known as LaMDA, which the company announced two years ago. He stated that (Bard) is able to provide high-quality answers with recent information that it draws directly from the web, indicating its superiority over ChatGPT, which cannot provide information dating back to after the year 2021.

He also touched on the variety of information that the new Google program can provide, from simplifying complex scientific concepts, to knowing the latest sports news or teaching the user new skills.

And he mentioned in his post that (Bard) will not be the best that Google can offer yet, as its first version was built on a light version of the LaMDA model, which is smaller in size and consumes less computing power, which helps Google provide the service to a larger number of users to get feedback and suggestions faster. . He said that user feedback and Google's own test results will be collected to improve the quality of answers.

(Pichai) confirmed that (Bard) will not be just a chat program, but its capabilities will be integrated into the Google search results in order to provide a summary answer to what the user is searching for, in addition to the usual traditional search results in the Google engine.

Bard will not be limited to serving the average user, but will provide an API for developers who will be able to take advantage of its smart features to integrate them into their applications. (Pichai) said that the company will soon invite developers to test the beta version of the software interface.

Google's announcement comes as confirmation of previous leaks that talked about Google's development of a competing service for ChatGPT. Although Google is one of the leading companies in the field of artificial intelligence and has contributed to the development of many of its technologies, including technologies used by ChatGPT itself, it was late in presenting a similar idea despite the existence of a project in this regard that it started years ago before it decided to stop it. But the great success achieved by ChatGPT made it bring the idea back to the forefront and accelerate its launch, according to reports.

It is noteworthy that Google had announced a few days ago that it would hold a press conference on the eighth of February to talk about its latest in the field of artificial intelligence. The conference is expected to include more details about Bard and the artificial intelligence capabilities available in its other applications.
