Elon Musk's lawyer talks about 'new stuff' about the canceled Twitter deal
In a new message to Twitter, Elon Musk invoked the accusations made by the former head of security in the company, Peter Zatko, to justify with additional arguments, his decision to abandon the project to acquire the group, which he announced in early July.
And Mike Ringler, one of Musk's attorneys, posted in an email to Twitter's legal officer that "allegations regarding certain facts known from Twitter before or until July 8, 2022 that were not disclosed to parties representing Musk before or on that date have since been revealed and provide additional and distinct pretexts to terminate acquisition agreement.
Ringler points to facts revealed by Peter Zatko, the former head of security at Twitter who has criticized loopholes in cyber security and accused executives of lying about the methods in place to combat fake accounts and spam.
The allegations of Zatko, who presents himself as a whistleblower, have been submitted to two US regulators as well as the Department of Justice.
